Precious Illusions
I'm fooling you,
You're killing me,
You've robbed me of my sanity.
You've torn apart my world,
Taken down my paper lantern.
You've shattered me,
Cast away my precious illusions,
As you growled and stalked
Like a lion towards me.
My predator,
The destroyer of all I see,
The theif of my precious illusions.
And I was a girl of riches,
Now a fading southern belle.
I came here for refuge
But sactuary I did not find,
As you my sordid stories did tell.
Revealing my lies, my airs and graces,
Wrapped in my precious illusions.
But did you know?
Oh filthy ape,
How I needed to lie,
To find someone
Of gentlemanly shape.
To save me or I'd die,
Taking with me
My precious illusions.
I tried to enchant you all.
Make you smile with some magic,
A dab of jasmine perfume,
And a silky white dress,
But it's your fault, pig,
That my story became so tragic.
And like the glass of a mirror,
A shattered mirror,
You've broken all my illusions.
