Twisted Affair

The moonlight beckons as I creep out of the shadows,
My world of death and despair,
I shall tell you my story,
One that tells of my twisted affair

I was bound to my saviour,
In my quest for love,
I was seduced by promises of happiness,
Like an innocent dove

Betrayal and deception knocked on my door,
Lusting for my blood,
Leaving me drowning in my tears as I lay on the floor,
As into my soul a hole did bore

Mistaken for a fool,
I died with the lies,
Some now consider me cruel,
But that’s what happens when someone’s spirit dies

I spread my wings to fly,
No longer bound by long ago wishes,
The magic within me as I gaze at the sky,
Mocking the world and its drowning fishes

Inspired am I,
As I look back nevermore,
Now I crawl back to my lair to die,
Fighting a war of my own forevermore
