I Don't Say a Word

My icy sighs betray me
But I don’t say a word
They speak of my pain
Of what I’ve suffered

How can I tell you?
About how I feel
When I’ve lost all emotion
I’m as cold as steel

What do I do without you?
I’m out of control
Something’s been extinguished
Deep in my heart
As the pain takes its toll

I don’t say a word
But can’t God hear me?
My internal screams
Why doesn’t he end it?
This nightmarish dream

How can I help you?
When I’m trapped myself
When my only friend
Is my own shadow
My sole comfort
When night descends

I don’t say a word
But don’t you see?
This tangled web
It’s suffocating me
